// 2018 //

2018 was so much more than I thought it would be. I know I say this every year, but I am so grateful for the couples, families, and folks who trusted me to not only take their photo, but to tell a small part of their story. Half way through the year, I moved back to the United States after having lived in the Dominican Republic for three years. It was a hard decision, but I was ready to start a new chapter back in Chicago. I had no idea what moving back to Chicago would really look like for me personally and for this business, but now that I’m on the other side I can simply say that it has been amazing, challenging, rewarding, difficult, exciting, daunting, and inspiring.

I cannot wait to see what 2019 brings.

kaitlyn & mark // elmhurst, il

Kaitlyn and Mark braved a chilly, albeit sunny, October wedding day but I think we can all agree it was worth it! What’s not to love? Gorgeous flowers, a giant bridal party, incredible family, brilliant ceremony, birthday cakes on the dance floor…it doesn’t get much better!

Make sure to watch the incredible wedding film by my friend Jesse Schroeder at the end of this post!

elegant and modern wedding inspiration

this day was amazing. a classic bride with non-traditional, elegant, and modern style. an all white venue to showcase a rich color palette and detailed textures. a contemporary bouquet and handmade hanging altarpiece.

this wedding inspiration brilliantly executed by these amazing Chicago partners:

lauren & ej // chicago, il

Lauren and EJ got married on the first officially cold day of October, but could not have done it more beautifully! these two celebrated with their closest friends and family on a classic windy day in Chicago. an easy morning at the Ace Hotel, followed by an intimate ceremony and great dance party at City View Loft, with florals elegantly designed by Vale of Enna.

I wouldn't have wanted to spend this chilly day on rooftops with anybody else but Lauren and EJ!

mel & matt // chicago, il

a marriage like this -- friendship and joy and laughter and celebrations and passion and talent and love.

mel and matt are one of my favorite couples. not only do I get the privilege of calling these two my friends, but I got a front row seat to every minute of this beautiful day. I was so honored to be a part of their wedding and be at the start of this new chapter of their lives. congratulations you two, I've got so much love for you.
