// 2018 //

2018 was so much more than I thought it would be. I know I say this every year, but I am so grateful for the couples, families, and folks who trusted me to not only take their photo, but to tell a small part of their story. Half way through the year, I moved back to the United States after having lived in the Dominican Republic for three years. It was a hard decision, but I was ready to start a new chapter back in Chicago. I had no idea what moving back to Chicago would really look like for me personally and for this business, but now that I’m on the other side I can simply say that it has been amazing, challenging, rewarding, difficult, exciting, daunting, and inspiring.

I cannot wait to see what 2019 brings.

year in review // 2016

when I sat down to look back on this past year's work, I was overwhelmed. overwhelmed by the sheer number of people I had the joy to work with -- the families, the babies, the couples, the seniors. every year, I am reminded of the beautiful stories to be told and feel so honored to be a part of them in a small way.

thank you to each and every one of you who stepped in front of my camera and trusted me. you make my days better.

I think I was smiling the whole time while editing these photos.

Jeff and a friend of mine planned this surprise proposal for Amy along the Lake Shore and it could not have gone better. after the proposal, we did a mini engagement shoot, pretending it was 60 degrees and springtime, not 30 degrees and chilly! Amy's shock and excitement was infectious and shooting this newly engaged couple was the perfect start to the weekend.
