brandi & john // traverse city, mi

where do I even start? this wedding in Traverse City, Michigan at the Warbler House by Northern Migration was definitely in my Top 10 favorites of all time. I met Brandi and John while Brandi was looking for the perfect wedding jumpsuit and I knew immediately that even though they were exponentially cooler than I am, I wanted to be their friend.

these two kept their cool during a wedding that seemingly handed them crisis after crisis, but they kept their heads and laughed it off, thanks to a killer team of wedding planners, great friends, a fantastic band, and a zillion family members willing to get soaked in a downpour.

so although a major storm stranded them in their AirBnB for 45 minutes, the ceremony location moved from Plan A, to Plan B, to Plan C, and the shuttle bus took half their guests to the wrong wedding (until they realized where they were and zipped over to the correct site a mere 10 minutes before starting time!), nothing could stop these two from having a beautiful, funny, heartfelt, laidback, and outstanding wedding. I am so lucky to have been a witness to it all.

// 2018 //

2018 was so much more than I thought it would be. I know I say this every year, but I am so grateful for the couples, families, and folks who trusted me to not only take their photo, but to tell a small part of their story. Half way through the year, I moved back to the United States after having lived in the Dominican Republic for three years. It was a hard decision, but I was ready to start a new chapter back in Chicago. I had no idea what moving back to Chicago would really look like for me personally and for this business, but now that I’m on the other side I can simply say that it has been amazing, challenging, rewarding, difficult, exciting, daunting, and inspiring.

I cannot wait to see what 2019 brings.

kaitlyn & mark // elmhurst, il

Kaitlyn and Mark braved a chilly, albeit sunny, October wedding day but I think we can all agree it was worth it! What’s not to love? Gorgeous flowers, a giant bridal party, incredible family, brilliant ceremony, birthday cakes on the dance floor…it doesn’t get much better!

Make sure to watch the incredible wedding film by my friend Jesse Schroeder at the end of this post!
